The fortresses of St. Anne, St. John and Subicevac overlook the Old Town. There are several points of entry but the main entrance is the one from Poljan. The Cathedral of Sibenik is considered of the most important architectural projects of the late Middle Ages. The Cathedral of St. James is a monument protected by the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Sports fans will find a treat in store with the opportunity to hunt hare and pheasant. Visitors can also learn the art of falconry at the Dubrava Hawking Centre or enrol for horseback riding courses at Jadrtovac.
Highlights of the cultural calendar include the International Children’s Festival in June and July’s Day of St. James, the city’s patron saint.
The Krka and the Kornati national parks offer visitors a glimpse of fishermen and divers practising their trade in the traditional styles. The Dolac quarter in the town centre has around a 100 cafes that serve the local specialities.
