Salonae is a town in Dalmatia in Croatia. It is located almost 8 kilometers to the northeast of Split city on the Adriatic Sea and the Jadro River. It was once the capital of the Roman Empire in Dalmatia. Solin as it is known is to the north of the Split peninsula and in a basin surrounded completely by Kozjak Mountain to its north and Mosor to its east. It has eight neighborhoods.
