The Palace of Diocletian, protected by the UNESCO World Heritage List is the city’s favourite monument. The Museum of Croatian Archaeological Monuments, Treasury of the Split Cathedral and Ethnographic Museum give detailed information about the city’s 1700-year-old history.
The summer seasons marks the start of the cultural calendar. The Split Summer, a series of open-air concerts, plays and operas, the Melodies of the Croatian Adriatic and the Split Festival of Pop Music are annual events. The Day of St. Doimus, the patron saint of the city is celebrated on 7th May.
The Marjan Forest Park gives you a breathtaking view of the city. The carefully maintained park includes promenades, children’s playgrounds, nature paths, solariums and the Split Zoo.
Split’s numerous restaurants specialise in Dalmatian cuisine, involving fresh sea food and meat, and white wine, including malvazija, posip, pinot and vugava i kujundzusa.
