St. Donatus Church is a monumental round building built from the 9th century in pre Romanesque style. it is said that it was erected on the site of the temple of Juno. Moreover, it is also the most important preserved structure of its period in Dalmatia. The church treasury has some of the finest Dalmatian metal work, the silver ark of St. Simeon built in 1380 and the pastoral staff of Bishop Valaresso built in 1460.
