It would be very useful to carry a travel guide such as ‘The Rough Guide to Croatia’ by Jonathan Bousfield who makes regular trips to Croatia.
This guide gives details on accommodation, costs, nightlife options, restaurants, places to visit, history of Croatia and more.
Carry appropriate clothing for the season. Summers can be hot, so, sunscreen, beach wear, loose cotton clothes and sunglasses should be packed.
For winter it would be best to bring sweaters and jackets as it can be pretty chilly. A camera is a must to take photographs. Credit cards are readily accepted so have one to use if your cash runs out!
The local currency is the Kuna and the maximum allowance is two thousand kn.
Bring waterproof boots if visiting outside the summer months as some areas of Croatia have many steps and falls are likely without appropriate footwear.
