Tourist Guide Kyrenia

Kyrenia is a nice  harbour city in the northern part of Cyprus: the city not only has the typical fascinating aspect of being a harbour town, but it also bewitch visitors with its historical buildings, superb natural landscape and un-spoilt sandy beaches.

The old town, close to the harbour, is a zone you shouldn't miss when you visit Kyrenia: here you can find ancient Ottoman buildings, most of them are now abandoned, hidden staircases and narrow streets, historic churches.

Another amazing place to see in Kyrenia is the Byzantine Castle, right at the east end of the harbour. The castle saw a coming and going of many a conqueror during the centuries: Byzantines, Venetians, Ottomans, and the British lived here.

Kyrenia Harbour itself is one of the best places to visit in the city. Especially in hot summer nights when the sea breeze and the fresh air from the mountains stream through the ports and cool down the atmosphere;
the Harbour itself become a cool place for the trendiest tourists, who wander from cafés to restaurants and bars.
