The Church of Ayios Ilias sits just outside the town atop a rocky cliff. Those who walk up to the church will be rewarded with a panoramic view of Protaras and the surrounding countryside. The beach is here gently shelves into the clear, blue Mediterranean. On the beach are a variety of water sports, from paddle boats to jet skis and paragliding.
 
The Camel Park offers camel rides and also has a playground for children. Noah’s Ark stands in the complex as a photo backdrop.

Love Boat and Rockafellas are two of the most popular bars in town. Nicolas Tavern comes recommended as the best place to eat a traditional Greek-Cypriot meal, so long as you order the kleftico.

The town is located approximately half way between the party town of Agia Napa and Paralimni. Both cities are served by a regular bus service. Boat operators offer regular charters to Cape Greco, considered the most beautiful place on the island.
