For those with a penchant for the bizarre, a visit to Sedlec’s Ossuary will not disappoint. The site has a collection of carved human bones that have been crafted into chandeliers, coats of arms and statues. The former concentration camp at Terezin will send chills down one’s spine as one passes through the isolation cells, the cemetery and the crematorium.
The country is famous for its castles; some of the most visited ones are Karlstejn, Bitov, Bouzov, Český Šternberk, Krivoklat, Konopiste, Loket and Pernštejn. The city of Brno boasts of the gothic Špilberk Castle along with the Moravian Museum.
Plzen is known for its eclectic architecture, the Brewery Museum, the Západoceské Galérie and the Plzensky Prazdroj brewery.
