Benešov is a town located in the Central Bohemian region of the Czech Republic. It lies between the Sazava and the Vltava rivers and is just 40 km out of Prague, the capital city.
The weather here is typical of the continental climate prevalent in the Republic. There are two main seasons: hot and humid summers and cool and dry winters with a lot of snow. Average temperatures for the former are from 4°C to 1°C, and for the latter, the temperatures range from 15°C to 25°C. The period from May to September is best for tourist visits as the days are warm and the nights are cool.
There are nearly 16,000 inhabitants in the town. Benešov is famous for both its natural and historic tourist attractions particularly the magnificent array of medieval-time castles and monuments which draw guests from all over the world.
