The Old Town Hall lies at a distance of five minutes from the centre of the city or the Namesti Svobody. It is the oldest secular building in Brno and the historical origins of this building date back to around 1240 as the city administration was situated in this place. The entrance of the courtyard was made through the tower walls, prior to 1510. The courtyard had statues of townsmen and heralds.
