Traditional dishes include dumplings known as knedlíky, usually served with Czech classics such as guláš; Svíčková na smetaně, beef sirloin with a creamy root vegetable sauce and Vepřo-knedlo-zelo, the combination of roast pork, knedlíky and sauerkraut. Other popular dishes include pečená kachna, roast duck served with bread or potato dumplings and red and white sauerkraut and moravský vrabec, pork cooked in garlic and onions. Local beer is a popular drink.
