The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is a film festival which is held in the month of July in the city of Karlovy Vary. Due to its success in the past years, it has become one of the important film events in Eastern and Central Europe. This festival is also one of the oldest festivals in the world. Established prior to the Second World War, it was supported by the Ministry of Information and Culture.
