The Kampa Museum, which today is operated by the Jan and Meda Mládek Foundation (Nadace Jana a Medy Mladkovych) has been a staple in Prague's community since before 1393. Located on Kampa Island on the Vltava River, the museum used to be a prominent Czech flour mill which was destroyed and reconstructed several times throughout the centuries.

The Mládeks were an extremely influential couple in the Czech Republic throughout the 20th century, and although Jan passed away in 1989, Meda Mládek has continued his legacy by reconstructing the mill on Kampa Island and donating their immense art collection to the museum.

Apart from the Jan and Meda Mládek Collection, which includes several Central European Modern pieces, the museum offers the Jirí and Bela Kolár Collection, and the Collection for Jindrich Chalupecký, which features works from artists such as Václav Cígler and Olbram Zoubek. This is great opportunity to learn about Prague's roots, as well as see some profoundly beautiful paintings.

Admission prices to the Kampa Museum vary depending on age, group size, and student status. The museum is open every day from 10 am to 6 pm. Stop by and check out some great Czech art!
