Rokytnice nad Jizerou is a beautiful town in the western Krkonoše mountains. The mountains are also called Giant Mountains and are the highest mountains in the Czech Republic. It has the ideal climate for the winter resort that it is.
The population of this town is about 3500, and the town stands at an elevation of about 520 m above sea level.
The town’s community centre is the hub of social life; it plays host to a number of cultural events.
