Things to Do in Aalborg: attractions to See in Aalborg

Aalborg: Attractions and more...

History is well conserved in the old streets of the city with the half-timbered Aalborghus Castle, now the location of government offices, and the Renaissance-style house of Jens Bang, a local merchant from the 1600s. Aalborgtårnet, an observation tower, is ideal for a vantage view of the city and the surrounding fjord.

The annual Carnival in the last week of May is a big crowd-puller with over 100,000 people participating in the street processions. A special carnival for children forms a part of this Carnival; stage shows and concerts carry on up to midnight and a mega fireworks display brings the Carnival to an end.

The Jomfru Ane Gade, where the bustling restaurants and cafes in the day give way to pubs and discos by night, is the most popular street with the tourists.

Just outside the city is the Forest of Rold, home to many species of red trees and a unique circus museum
