The Thorvaldsens Museum is known to be the oldest and the most unusual museum building in Denmark. It was named after Bertel Thorvaldsens, who lived in Copenhagen from 1770 to 1844 and opened in 1848. The museum consists of original sculptures models of Bertel. Apart from this, worth seeing are the drawings, sketches and his extensive collection of paintings of his own time and works of artifacts from Roman, Egyptian and Greek antiquities.
