Østre Anlaeg lies on lands that used to be part of the city's fortifications, and was made in to a public park by landscape architect H.A. Flindt. The park can be reached via the Østerport Station and is generally full, during the summer, of students enjoying the sun and all the little gems this parks reserves to the visitors, like the Botanical Garden.
The park also offers a lot to the culturally inclined, as both the Hirschsprung Collection and the modern extension of the Statens Museum for Kunst are located within its boundaries.
