Tourist Guide Herning
Herning is located in the Jutland peninsula in Western Denmark. It has a population of about 60,000. It was established in the 1800s when uncultivated land was reclaimed for farming activities. It was thus titled the ‘Capital of Heath’.
June to August is the best time to visit Herning with temperatures ranging between 14°C and 17°C. These months may also see occasional showers. January and February are coldest with temperatures sometimes falling below 0°C.
Herning was an an important commercial centre from the outset. Later, the textile weaving industry became the backbone of the town’s economic activities. Today, Herning is home to a range of industries and a popular venue for trade fairs and exhibitions.
