Haapsalu is a small town situated 100km from Tallinn on the shore of the Baltic Sea. It is a quiet and peaceful place with fresh air and natural surroundings where one can enjoy a stress free holiday.
It has developed into a wonderful spa resort. People come here especially for the hot mud treatment which is known to heal several ailments. There are many places to see in the area; the old Episcopal Castle, the wild shoreline near the old town, small wooden houses, Tchaikovsky's bench, the church, the Swedish Village museum, the main street, the market place, the old pharmacy, the railway station where the movie 'Anna Karenina' was shot and much more.
Overall, it is a small and welcoming town to relax in, where everything is within walking distance and there are a number of places to explore. It is an ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life.
