Tourist Guide Narva
Narva is located on the border of Estonia and Russia. Most of its 68,000 inhabitants are employed in the textile or power industry. Over the years, Narva’s sandy beaches and clear sea water have made it popular with the tourists.
Summer in Narva is pleasant with July recording the highest temperature at almost 21ºC. It rains throughout the year, with maximum rains in August. The winters are severe and temperatures fall to as low as 7.7ºC.
For many centuries, Narva was the bone of contention between Russia, Denmark and Sweden. Its location was very crucial as a link between the Baltic region and Russia. It also fell on the trade routes to Persia and other oriental countries. Being under constant attack, Narva was surrounded by a fortified wall, one of the strongest in Europe.
