National Museum of Finland is situated at Nervanderinkatu 13 P.O. Box 913 in Helsinki and is open daily from 11 to 6 except on Mondays and 11 to 8 on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The museum gives detailed information about the history of Finland from prehistoric times to the present era. There are 6 divisions of the permanent exhibitions namely
The Treasure Troves which has a collection of coins, weapons, medals and more, The Prehistory of Finland which is the largest archeological exhibition, The land and its people displays the rural life which existed in the past, The Realm explains the history of the land from the middle ages to the 20th century,
The past century exhibition displays the independence of Finland and workshop VINTTI is an interactive exhibition where one can participate in the activities to get to know more about the region of Finland and its history.
There are temporary exhibitions held here as well and the other facilities include an information center, a library, a museum shop, auditorium and cafeteria.
