Kamppi is a neighbourhood in the centre of Helsinki, the capital of Finland. The name is drawn from a small area that was previously known as ‘Kamppi field’ which has today swelled to encompass as many as 10,000 residents in the centre of Finland’s biggest city. The central bus station of Helsinki is located in a modern terminal built entirely underground in Kamppi, and the Helsinki railway station is located only a few hundred metres away.
A popular destination in Kamppi is Tennispalatsi, the largest cinema multiplex in Helsinki. It is one of the key spots if you want to get straight to the heart of youth culture in this capital or even, hopefully, meet some famously elusive Finns.
Another of the main reasons for being in this area for tourist and resident alike is Kamppi’s shopping centre. It can be easily reched by foot, car or public transport. On offer are over 120 stores across six floors teeming with a versatile selection of stores and stock that guarantees that you will always find the trends for women's, men's and children's clothing, home decoration or beauty care. In addition there are over 30 cafés and restaurants catering to almost every taste. You can come for breakfast, lunch or dinner, spend all your money, or just a little.
