When to visit
The best time to visit Alsace is autumn, when the tourists have gone home and the climate is cooled off. If one is planning to visit during September and October, he can enjoy and catch a glimpse of the leaves along with the grape harvest. Spring and summer is lovely in Alsace, with brightly colored daffodils replacing the snow in April and becoming more colorful through the summer. The month of summer is warm, though the mountains offer an escape from the scorching heat. End of summer is also an ideal time to visit as it is the hottest and also the most crowded time of the year. Though it does not snow in the winter season, skiing is popular in the Vosges Mountains in Alsace and the villages are beautifully breathtaking when the pointed roofs are totally covered in snow. Overall, the continental climate of Alsace enables one to visit this place any time of the year. The area also currently hosts the French round the World Rally Championship to please gear-head enthusiasts.
