For wine lovers Bordeaux is a promised land, with rolling hills, valleys and endless vineyards hugging the land, there can be no better place to set about a journey of exploration into the art of French wines.
Tours are the ideal way to get into this fabulous land of wines. Some of the best vineyards such as Château Lafite Rothschild, Château Cheval Blanc, Château Margaux and Chateau Petrus should be central to any itinerary. Note that the famed Château Haut Brion has recently been closed for renovation.
Another good possibility is to time your trip to accord with the annual summer wine festivals, held in tandem with the "bordeaux-fete-le-fleuve. These are a perfect way to experience a wide range of world-renowned local wines.
