Bordeaux: Attractions and more...
An astonishing arts museum is housed there as well as some nice buildings which
can be admired enjoying a walk along the river banks in the Quai de la Douane
area.
The city offers tourists the chance of enjoying excursions to Arcachon or Mondorf
les bains in one day time.
Among the most interesting places not to be missed at all are:
Saint Pierre Church
The Grand Theatre, started in april 1780, marks the town’s improvements
towards urbanization, thought and designed as the Temple of the Arts and Light;
The Palais Rohan or the City Hall;
Hôtel des Archives municipales or Municipal Archives where among the many
things there collected is the register of St. James’ brotherhood from
St.Michel’s church;
Saint-Seurin Basilica: it is the pilgrim place where Charlemagne is thought
to have laid down Roland’s ivory horn after Ronceveaux’s defeat.
A Bordeaux Wine Experience is something special and inique never to be missed!
