An astonishing arts museum is housed there as well as some nice buildings which can be admired enjoying a walk along the river banks in the Quai de la Douane area.

Hôtel des Archives municipales or Municipal Archives where among the many things there collected is the register of St. James’ brotherhood from St.Michel’s church;
Saint-Seurin Basilica: it is the pilgrim place where Charlemagne is thought to have laid down Roland’s ivory horn after Ronceveaux’s defeat.
