Pays de la Loire can be described as one amongst 26 administrative regions of France. It had been created in late twentieth century in order to serve as an influential zoned for Nantes, i.e. its capital. The name 'Pays de la Loire' has been derived not out of history, but on 'geographical references': 'Pays' means 'lands' and 'de la Loire' means 'of the Loire River'. Population as per 2005 estimated has been estimated to be 3400745.
