The Cathedral of Our Lady of Chartres and also known as Chartres Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral is situated in Chartres. It is almost eighty kilometers to the southwest of Paris. It is known as one of the finest examples of historic building in France with Gothic style of architecture. A significant building in Chartres, this cathedral was the centre of the economy and the most popular landmark at present. During the middle ages, it functioned sometimes as a market place. The length of the cathedral is 130 meters with width of 32 meters. Its height is 37 meters and ground area is 10.875 square meters.
