Chateau de Maintenon is in Maintenon known for its picturesque. It was first the home to the family of d’ Angennes, Marquis de Maintenon. Later on, it was home to Madame de Maintenon, morganatic, the second wide of King Louis XIV. It is a beautiful chateau in a pleasant and typical French village. There are also aquaducts in the back of the grounds which are huge and impressive. Visiting this historic building is worth of doing some reading on the history of the structure and its former resident’s lifestyle. Whilst in Chartres, Chateau de Maintenon has to be a definite stop to see its beautiful architectural style.
