The Musee a Bandera in Ajaccio, Corsica offers Corsica history overview from its origins until World War II. This museum presents the display of ten thousand struggling years against traders and conquerors from Europe and the Mediterranean. For any visitor, the museum is interesting with highlight displays like the 1769 battle of Ponte Novo that confirmed French conquest of the island and the model of the Ajaccio port, as it was in the initial period, proclaimed by Gilbert Elliot. There are note worthy panels that describe the women’s role in the society of Corsica along with their considerable power that they have sometimes wielded.
