Things to Do in Bastia, Corsica: attractions to See in Bastia

Bastia: Attractions and more...

The town can be explored in an open-air train starting from St.Nicholas Square. It takes a circuitous tour of the whole city and highlights its main attractions.

St.Nicholas Square is the hub of all recreational activities; it faces the sea and is lined with several cafes. It is flanked by Boulevard Paoli and Rue César Campinchi—the two major shopping streets of the town.

Most of the town’s historical monuments can be found in Terra Vecchia, the old quarter, and Terra Nova, around the citadel. The ornate St. John’s church and the Saint Roch’s Oratory are some of the popular buildings here.

The Chiurlinu Lake—a nature reserve spread over almost 1,500 hectares—can be found in the nearby Furiani village. Its wide range of aquatic birds attracts keen bird watchers and nature lovers.
