Tourist Guide Propriano
Propriano, a port in the Valinco Gulf in the Island of Corsica, is situated in France. Propriano, which is a commune of the Corse-du-Sud department on Corsico Island, lies in the south-eastern part of Ajaccio. The city has a total population of around 3,100 inhabitants.
The region enjoys an ideal Mediterranean climate, characterised by hot summers and cold winters with mild amounts of rainfall. The climate in the city is characterised by mild temperatures.
Exploited by the Greeks, the Romans and the Carthaginians, Propriano witnessed a series of Saracen pirate attacks during the eighteenth century. However, it was redeveloped during the nineteenth century.
The port of Propriano and the tourism industry account for a large portion of the city’s economy. The port handles ferries to Toulon, Marseille and Sardinia.Explore map
