Dijon is located in eastern France and is the historical capital of the Burgundy province. The population of the town according to the 2005 census was 150,800.
The town experiences a temperate continental climate with cold dry winters and warm humid summers. Rainfall is generally low and tends to fall more during the summer months. Dijon dominates the Mustard industry.
It is renowned for its great European centres of art, learning and science. The city is also well known for its crème de cassis, or blackcurrant liqueur, used in the drink known as "Kir". People in Dijon are very warm and engaging.
The festivals and events in Dijon consist of arts, cinema, music, wine etc. with the most famous being the Spice Bread festival, during which, Dijon celebrates its delicious spice bread as its local delicacy.
