The economy of France has a dominant private sector and a steadily declining public sector. France is the leading producer and exporter of agriculture in Europe. Wheat, dairy, poultry, beef, pork and wine are the major exports. Tourism is also a major source of income. At present, France is the most visited country in Europe.
France is a relatively expensive country to visit. The average daily cost for a tourist is 34 €–60 €. The most economical way to travel is by the metro.
