Paris Travel Guide

City Guide about Paris with tips and reviews by travelers.

You will never forget your first visit to Paris: you will beabsolutely sure to stumble upon places of incredible history and beauty on every street corner of the city. Sometimes it can be really difficult to take a decision about where to begin and what to see first, as this city offers a long list of museums and monuments to sightsee. In our Paris travel guide, you will discover that most of the city is worth seeing and exploring, but there are some attractions that first-time tourists in particular will want to focus on. Into our Paris guide you will find a complete list of the city's best sights and attractions, elected byour community according totheir historical importance, or sheer aesthetic appeal. If you want to experience Paris' most essential and iconic places, our travel guide will help you pointing out what to see and do first. You should start for example from the Louvre. To learn the Louvre in and out, you might need a lifetime. But one has to start somewhere. This museum contains the world's largest and most diverse collection of pre-20th century painting, sculpture, and decorative objects. Inside this museum you can find the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo, bask in the works of Vermeer, Caravaggio, Rembrandt, and many more. You can’t complete your first trip to Paris without a visit to Notre Dame, this marvelous gothic architecture. It is one of the most particular and beautiful cathedrals of Europe and it took over 100 years of labor to complete. More than any other attraction to visit, the Eiffel Tower is become the most representative symbol of Paris. It has attracted over 220 million visitors since it was built, and it would be very hard to imagine Paris without it. If you want to complete your trip in a legendary way, you should walk thought the famous Arc de Triomphe. All the arch's beautiful sculptures commemorate Napoléon's generals and soldiers. Visit the Arc de Triomphe to culminate a walk down the equally grandiose Avenue des Champs-Elysées. Read our Paris travel guide in order to discover all the most important attractions to sightsee in the city.

General opinion: Paris is great, try BnB for accommodation but go to the country for food. Get a Paris pass and spend at least 6-8 days. Latin Quarter is central as is Marias district. After all the sites have been visited head to the back streets and check out the little things.

General opinion: Paris is the best! Can be expensive, but also a good deal with planning. Great food, museums, art, monuments, ambiance, walking experience. Art museums include the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay in a converted train station, Pompidou, Cluny, and Asian. Underground sights include sewer and catacombs. Great views from Eiffel tower, Sacre-Coeur, Pompidou. Best time is early spring when there are fewer tourists.

The accessibility: Visit the Eifel Tower at night. It is so beautiful you can see an overview of Paris. There are a lot of very beautiful historical places. The structures are amazing. I also like the shopping center with a wide range of the famous branded clothes, bags and shoes to choose from. And it is safe to travel even at night.

General opinion: Great city to walk around all the touristic places. Lots to see, exellent food. Is better if you know french cause not everyone speaks english. Street food is delicious. Carry an umbrella or light raincoat. To visit the Eiffel Tower try to buy tickets thru internet, very long lines to buy these.

The accessibility: EVERYBODY CAN USE THE EXCELLENT METRO NETWORK WITHOUT PROBLEMS. BUY A SPECIAL TICKET ACCORDING TO WHERE YOU WANT TO GO. THE FOOD SHOPS ARE EXCELLENT, THEY'RE EVEN OPEN UNTIL MIDNIGHT. I RECOMMEND STAYING AT A CHAIN OF APARTHOTEL, THERE'S SOMETHING FOR EVERY BUDGET, AND YOU'LL BE ABLE TO MANAGE YOUR OWN HOLIDAY FREELY.

General opinion: Lovely city, its better during the summer. If you don't want to spend a lot when on holiday especially for lunch water and a crepe should be enough. If you have kids, Disney World is just 30 minutes away and if you are looking for a church, Hillsong Paris is also pretty accessible from the City via Metro..

Shopping and Souvenirs: It's an excellent destination for those who want to enrich their culture. Before departing I recommend booking your ticket for the Eiffel Tower if you don't want to waste a whole day waiting in the queue! It's a very expensive city, but the souvenirs are affordable. Be careful when you're on the metro, a lot of bags get snatched.

Packing List: In the winter, a scarf and hat are absolutely indispensable. I recommend dressing in layers in all seasons and don't forget to bring an umbrella. When I went in December, it was really cold and rainy, in the spring you get warm sunshine and a little later, clouds and rain. But Paris is always wonderful.

The accommodation: It's worth going there before the age of 26 because you don't have to pay to get into museums and there are great discounts for the metro and amusement parks! Beware of booking accommodation under 3 Stars because you never get the quality that you've paid for. It's better to book accommodation in the 3 stars and up range, you'll spend the same amount of money but you'll get good quality as well as basic hygiene.

Sport, adventure and wellness: It's fantastic, I'd definitely go back! The churches and monuments are beautiful. It's worth going on a boat tour. The desserts are excellent, the pasta and coffee leave a lot to be desired, the Bistro Romain is quite good. For shopping you should take a trip to the Galeries Lafayette.

Nightlife and entertainment: The Quartier Latin is beautiful, at night it's especially lively, it's well worth going there more than once. Try the food at local restaurants, there are specialities from different countries, and the prices are reasonable. In general it's all fascinating, the area around the Pantheon is pretty and there are lots of bars there.

The accessibility: Well, in general it's a well-structured city. Obviously like all the great art cities there's always something to improve. There are some places that are difficult for disabled people to get to, some metro lines don't have escalators, are dirty and aren't supervised well at night.

Nightlife and entertainment: At night it feels like day time, it's fantastic. There are so many things to see that you can't do everything, so arrange to stay as long as possible. Wrap up warmly because it's cold, but it's worth it. The various nightclubs offer everything you want, especially for singles.

Surroundings and tours: There's everything from good food, beautiful views and good transport. I must say Paris will always be Paris, the most romantic place in the world. It surprises visitors and surprises itself with its works by the most intellectual to the most frivolous, but there is something to please everyone. Rating: 10 marks. There is no doubt. Don't you agree?

Packing List: In Paris there is often strong wind, even when it isn't that cold. I recommend always taking something warm (hat, scarf) for protection. I also recommend wearing very comfortable shoes because, even if you use the metro a lot, there are so many stairs to get to the train (very few stations are equipped with escalators).

General opinion: Paris is the most visited city in the world. It is vibrant. There so much to see and to shop. The Moulin Rouge was an experience and the art was amazing. The shopping experience is unique in Paris. There is such a variety. The cab drivers are very helpful. The coffee shops on the streets are so many and it is an experience to sit and eat and stare at the people walking by. You do not have to chat with those sitting with you. They are just as fascinated to watch all the peolple walking by. One day we bought a french loaf of bread and cheese and sat on the pavement with a small bottle of wine. It was so enjoyabale. It is a city that all travellers should experience.
