The Palais Royal belonged to the French royal family for many generations. Built in 1629 for Cardinal de Richelieu, the palace was initially called as the Palais Cardinal. The Palais-Royal, a palace and also the nearby garden is situated in the first arrondissement of Paris. Designed by Jacques Lemercier, its construction got completed in 1629 and at present, houses the Conseil d ’ Etat, the Ministry of Culture and the Constitutional Council. Here, one can also get to see at the rear of the garden, the Bilbliotheque Nationale de France, with collections of more than 6,000,000 books, maps, documents and even prints.

Palais-Royal or the Royal Palace is a beautiful palace which is more known as the residence of the infamous Cardinal Richelieu. The place offers sculptured gardens dating back to 1624. Though it is not used as a royal palace, it is a haven for royalty over the years and is located on Palais Royal Square near to Le Louvre Museum. This is a beautiful tourist attraction worth visiting in Paris. The palace was built for Cardinal de Richelieu in 1629 and was initially known as the Palais Cardinal. The garden of the palace is worth visiting for it’s a peaceful place and nearby buildings houses the Ministry for the Arts and the Council of State.
