Joséphine Baker Swimming Pool is located on the bank of the River Seine abd is named named after the actress and French resistance heroine, Joséphine Baker. She was the first American born women to have received the highest French military honor, the Croix de Guerre.
The construction of this pool completed in 2006 and is the first new pool of the city since 1992. Open year round, the roof retracts, so that it is open air during the summer season. This pool caters to 350 people at a time. The architect of this pool is Robert de Busni, who found it challenging to design the pool. At 25 meters in length and 10 meters in width, the pool offers amenities like a café, sundeck and a gym. If you are looking for some sport during a stay in Paris - this may well be perfect for you!
