The Île de la Cité is known to be one of the natural islands in Seine, within the Paris city. Being the center of Paris, tourists visit the place as it was the precise location where the medieval city was refounded.
This place was the earliest settlement in Paris and the focal point here is the Notre-Dame Cathedral, or the Church of Our Lady. This district is worth visiting for its wealth of historic sites, archeological ruins and historic buildings.
