It was once the heart of Paris, the area where the city's cultural life took place, with famous artists and intellectuals of grate Fame. Today, the entire neighborhood is more "suitable for tourists" but it has not lost it's bohemian charm, underlined by by the presence of so many painters and street performers, ready to offer your portrait.

Montmartre illuminé

Montmartre est surtout connue pour la basilique au dôme blanc du Sacré Cœur, à son sommet. Celle-ci a été achevée en 1919 et honore les victimes françaises de la guerre franco-prussienne de 1870.

Montmartre is a historic site of the Montmartre Hill and is a famous tourist area in Paris. This place has many sightseeing, with lots of interesting events. Montmartre is a wonderful neighborhood of Paris known for lots of historic sites, cobblestone streets and a rich history. There are also some old churches, beautiful architectural style buildings and basilica of Sacre Coeur in Montmartre.
