When to visit
Île-de-France is more than just the City of Lights, home to many kings and queens of France. This region is rich with lots of historical sites, which one may have dreamt of. Originally known as the District of Paris, it was renamed to its present name in 1976. Île-de-France, home to extensive forests, is beautiful in fall, especially in the month of October. The months of May and June are quite good, with July through August, being the humid and crowded time of the year. The temperature is mild year round here, with hot and uncontrollable weather in late July and August. For those who would like to avoid the crowd, summer is the best time to visit the region. Many can plan to travel to this region in late spring (May to June), early fall (September and October), when the weather is pleasant. Please note that Parisians tend to leave the city during August and so the city itself is quiet and parking in many areas is free.
