Musee Fabre is the top art museum in Montpellier and shows some of the impressive collection of paintings from 17th century to 20th century. This museum is housed in a maze of galleries in a 17th century built Jesuit College with an 18th century hotel de Ville and 19th century extensions to it. There has been addition of a new contemporary art wing to this museum and the museum is worth visiting.
