When to visit
Languedoc-Roussillon is a large region situated to the south of France. With a rich history, the region is worth visiting for its endless historic sites, Roman bridges and many other attractions. Languedoc-Roussillon is warm in April and late October, though it is prone to rainstorms or heat waves. The best months worth visiting without any crowd are the month of September. July is the month when the beaches are crowded and a lot busier. This is the wonderful time to swim, boat, canoe and bike ride around the beautiful rivers, lakes and canals. In July and August, this place is busy with celebrations that include local arts and crafts, free evening concerts and street performances in the main square. But, if a tourist wants to avoid the crowds at this time, it is recommended that he avoid the beaches and popular inland tourist places in August. For those who like to ski can come here in winter the Pyrenees skiing season in the month of December.
