Limoges city is situated in France and is the administrative capital of the Limousin region. It was the seat of a Mennonita congregation known from correspondence of elders from the Jura along with Lorenz Friedenreich in Neuwied in 1783-84. This city was established by four families from Jura district in Switzerland.
This city is known for its medieval enamels on copper. The city was originally the Roman city of Augustoritum. The city, then a combination of two towns, was united in 1793.
The climate is known as marine west coast. Precipitation occurs in between October and February when strong European windstorms strike Limoges. On average, the city experiences 41 days of frost and seven days of snow per year and is known to be the hottest cities in France.
The population of the city was 137,502 with urban area having 247,944 inhabitants. As per the 1999 census, the population had reached 133,968.
