This building is former ‘abbey church’ of ‘St. Saturnin’s Abbey’ or ‘St. Sernin’s’. It had been constructed from 1080 to 1120 in Romanesque style. In spite of being known as basilica, this building deviates from Christian architecture’s basilica plan in one way or the other. It’s much bigger in comparison with the other churches. Brick is used for most of its construction.
