The Oceanographic Museum of Monaco is situated at Avenue Saint-Martin MC 98000 Monaco and is open daily from 10 to 6 in the first three and last three months of the year.
From April to September the museum is open from 9.30 to 7. This is a museum of marine sciences and was founded in 1910 by Prince Albert I.
The museum has a vast collection of a variety of sea species such as sea cucumbers, jellyfish, turtles, starfish, sea urchins, cuttlefish, rays, lobsters, sharks, crabs and more. The aquarium which is at the basement of the museum displays an array of flora and fauna worth seeing.
It features a presentation of tropical marine and Mediterranean ecosystem. There are over 4000 species of fish and 200 invertebrates found in the museum.
The museum took 11 years to build and has an impressive façade which towers above the sea. One can also find models of ships and craftware made from natural products found in the sea.
