The castle of Angers is a 13th century structure which is most renowned for its tapestry museum. The Cathedral of Saint Maurice is a magnificent 12th century structure that is a must on any itinerary. It houses a museum that contains a collection of David d’Angers’ sculptures. Another attraction here in Angers is the House of Adam which is the oldest house in this city.
The people of Angers are culturally inclined and they have many important festivals throughout the year, which include the Premiers Plans for cinema and the Festival d’Anjou for Dramatics. Street festivals like Accroche-Coeurs in September and Journee de la Musique in June are highly entertaining and definitely worth a visit.
