Tourist Guide Avoriaz
Avoriaz is a mountain resort which is situated in the heart of the Portes du Soleil in France. Apart from snow based recreation activities, Avoriaz is a center for golf, trekking, mountain biking and such outdoor activities during the summer season. Transportation facilities include horse drawn sleighs during both winter and summer season.
This resort area is also a station which is situated on the main circuit and is one of the largest skiing areas in the world. There is 130 kilometer of piste situated of the ski area in Avoriaz. This area is also distinctive amongst the 1960s built ski resorts.
With 35 lifts and 200 snowmaking canons, this area experiences 8 meters of snow. Its top elevation is 2280 meters and base elevation is 1100 meters. The skiable areas are 650 square kilometers. There are over 47 runs, which are categorized with 3 green runs, 24 blue runs, 15 red runs and 5 black runs respectively.
