Lyon: Streets, Squares and Neighbourhoods

The word Terreaux means the old moats and the medieval mud walls which protected the town till the end of the 16th century. Place des Terreaux were filled with rooms for a large square where the guillotine was erected. Moreover, it is the second most vital square after Bellecour place. One of the interesting point of the square is the small fountains which come from the ground and are symmetrically arranged and one can also watch the dancing waters.
