Megeve is a beautiful commune in Haute-Savoie in Rhone-Alpes region. It is situated in south-east of France, towards south side of Sallanches and west of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. At first known as a significant leather tannery town, Megeve’ s role as a ski resort became popular at the beginning of the 20th century due to the efforts taken by the Rothschild family.
This community is known for ski resorts which are near to the Mont-Blanc in French Alps. Lots of tourists from around the world believe that it is one of the most beautiful resorts in the world. Oberstdorf town situated in Germany is a twin town of this city since 1970.
Known as the Domaine Evasion Montblanc, Megeve has Alpine skiing areas. There is also Evasion Mont-blanc which covers 445 kilometers of area. Megeve elevation is 1,027 to 2,485 meters. Its total land area is 17.03 square miles.
As per the 2006 census estimates, Megeve had a population of 4,139 people.
