Val D' Isere

Val D' Isere is a commune in Rhone-Alpes region in south east of France. It is located five kilometers from the Italian border. This commune has even hosted the 2009 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships. The east and the central side of this commune is famous for its chalet architecture and the west side is popular for high rise architecture that dominates the landscape. Skiing is popular sport here since the 1930s. Moreover, this place is well-known as a holiday destination of characters of Edina and Patsy in the "Absolutely Fabulous" series.
