Rhône-Alpes is a very famous region in France, especially when it comes to adventure sports, outdoor activities and skiing. Rhône-Alpes region is also known as Rhône wine region for connoisseurs and wine lovers. Rhône-Alpes benefits from long warm summers, though it is cooler in the higher Alps. The winters are sunny and cold. Best time to visit Chamonix Mont in this region is December to April for winter sports and July to August for mountain biking and hiking. The summertime is the best time to visit this region as one can enjoy the sights and visit the stretches of water to bathe. Rhône-Alpes is a four season region, leader in skiing and winter sport activities. Summer is good for outdoor activities, camping, mountains and lakes whereas spring and autumn is good for enjoying the festivals and sport activities like golf and hiking other than for its well known wines. Wine fans will want to visit in September and October harvesting!
